The purpose of the USA High School Clay Target League is to attract students to participate in shooting sports while creating friendly competition among high schools throughout your state!
With the assistance of hundreds of volunteer coaches and parents, student athletes in grades 9 through 12 represent their high school by competing in weekly trap shooting at their local shooting range. Scores are submitted online and compared against other high school trap teams within their conference. The League provides a safe, comfortable, and positive team environment that enhances a student athlete’s character and personal growth through safe, educational, and socially acceptable involvement in shooting sports.

The Southwest School District has a long standing and successful history with 8 man football. We would like to continue this history into the 2026-27 school year. In 2025 we were unable to field a complete team and had to COOP with Braymer. Southwest has many outstanding athletes that we believe would be excellent football players. We have taken every precaution to insure the safety of our students by purchasing newer safer equipment and employing some of the best coaches in 8 man football. We have had students that did not play football until their Junior year and then receive all-state honors. We will be actively recruiting students and hope that you will encourage your students to explore this opportunity. The Southwest administration and Board of Education hope to make a final decision by February.

Tuesday was extra special for First Grade, as they received a visit from Webb Cattle Company, their partners in education! 🐄 The kiddos learned all about terrariums and got to create their own little ecosystems. Their faces lit up with excitement as they built these mini-worlds! 🌱✨
